Principal’s Message

We’re heading into our final full month of school—it’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by. It has been a fantastic year, and there is still so much to look forward to in the coming weeks. While our staff is busy wrapping up this school year, we are also beginning preparations for the 2026–2027 school year.

We invite you to take a few moments to share your feedback with our Wakanda staff—we truly value your input. We are incredibly proud of our community and are committed to continuing to grow and improve for all of our children and families. The first survey gathers general feedback and fulfills a requirement for our Title I programming. The second survey supports our staff as they review class sizes and begin developing class lists for the 2026–2027 school year. To assist us in this process, please complete the form(s) by Friday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m. Kindly submit a separate form for each child enrolled at Wakanda Elementary (excluding current 5th grade students).

Wakanda 2026-2027 School Year Plans

On Thursday, April 30, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., we will partner with the Rassbach Museum and River Heights Elementary to host a Family STEAM Night. This annual event offers a variety of fun, hands-on activities for families to enjoy together.

On May 1, we will hold our annual Wakanda Walk-a-Thon. This cherished fundraiser brings our school community together for a day of activity and celebration. Students will spend the day walking to raise funds that support field trips and enhance our school environment. A special thank-you to our PTO for organizing and sponsoring this event—please see below for additional details.

Be sure to review the sections below for more information about upcoming events—we hope you’ll take a moment to explore all that’s ahead!

All the best,
Diane Schofield - Wakanda Elementary Principal
