Located on the North side of the City of Menomonie, along the beautiful shore of Lake Menomin, Wakanda Elementary (built in 1997) is the home of approximately 430 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade "Stars". We are a three-section school with class sizes averaging between 20-25 students per regular education teacher. Our facility also houses additional staff in guidance counseling, schoolwide Title I, speech and language, English language learners, instructional media, special education, autism, early childhood education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, educational support, gifted and talented, art, music, and physical education.
Wakanda Elementary's staff continue to be actively engaged in Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Response to Intervention (RtI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). These initiatives work in conjunction with one another to ensure that all students can learn. The school's common master schedule provides for weekly staff collaboration time and daily intervention/enrichment opportunities for students. As a result, Wakanda students overall perform at or above the state average on standardized tests.
Thank you for your interest in Wakanda Elementary School. We welcome your inquiries, as well as visits, to our school during the normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, when school is in session.
Go Stars!
